The Cases in this project are designed to be used collaboratively- between GP Trainers and their Registrars, or between colleagues exploring shared decision making strategies. 

They are supplementary, not a substitute for reviews of real-life consultations, which have the greatest validity of performance and utility for learning

Pausing to discuss the case at Decision Time is your chance to analyse the communication together and see what they think.

Linkage to the RCGP SCA Feedback Statements and suggestions help to prepare Registrars for their SCA sitting by utilising these resources before their first attempt. 

This should stimulate further conversations for them to take and apply in their own consultations alongside analysing their own real-life consulting through COTs or shared surgeries. 

This format gives them the safety and artificiality of seeing how candidates commonly run into difficulties in the exam, by exploring consultation choices and seeing the consequences play out, whether that was their intention or not!
